Marcos Osorio is a community development professional, educator, father, and first-generation college graduate running to expand access to higher education and strengthen career pathways for Central Valley students.
A proud product of California’s community college system, Marcos began his college journey at a community college before transferring to UCLA and later earning graduate degrees in Education Policy and Business Administration from the University of Washington. His own experience shaped his belief that community colleges should be accessible, affordable, and connected to real opportunities for students, working families, and adult learners.
Marcos has spent his career at the intersection of education, economic development, and community investment. He has supported students and families through expanded learning programs, helped small businesses access capital and training, and advised organizations on grant strategy, program development, and local economic growth.
As a candidate for the State Center Community College District Board, Marcos is focused on expanding access for first-generation and working students, strengthening transfer and career technical education pathways, partnering with local employers to prepare students for good-paying jobs, and ensuring responsible, transparent leadership that keeps resources focused on student success.
